Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix contained the film music that Nicholas Hooper composed in 2007 for the fifth instalment of the Harry Potter film series. Hooper succeeded John Williams and Patrick Doyle as composer for the series. His score combined orchestral themes with darker, tense passages suited to the film's gloomier tone. Familiar motifs such as 'Hedwig's Theme' returned in reworked form. The music underscored the menace and resistance at the heart of this part of the story.
