Wish You Were Here, released in 1975, was the ninth studio album by the British band Pink Floyd, following the success of The Dark Side of the Moon. The record was largely a tribute to founder Syd Barrett and a reflection on alienation and the music industry. The monumental 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond', split across several parts, formed the album's backbone. It also featured 'Welcome to the Machine', 'Have a Cigar' and the title track. With its atmospheric, layered production, it is regarded as one of the highlights of their catalogue.
