Lovesexy appeared in 1988 as the follow-up to Sign o' the Times, arriving after Prince pulled the already-pressed Black Album at the last moment. Released on his own Paisley Park label, it sets spirituality against sexuality, opening with "Eye No" and carrying "Alphabet St." as its best-known single. On the original CD the nine songs ran as a single continuous track, with no separate index points. In the United Kingdom the record reached number one.
