Sign O' The Times is Prince's ninth studio album, a double LP originally released in March 1987. It took shape after he dissolved The Revolution and abandoned three announced projects (Dream Factory, Camille and Crystal Ball); what was left he largely played himself. The title track is a bare drum-machine piece about AIDS, crack and the Challenger disaster, 'If I Was Your Girlfriend' has him singing in a pitched-up voice, and the album also holds 'U Got The Look' with Sheena Easton, 'I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man', 'Starfish And Coffee' and 'Adore'. The critics of The Village Voice voted it album of 1987 in their Pazz & Jop poll.
