A Night at the Opera originally appeared in 1975 as Queen's fourth studio album, again produced by Roy Thomas Baker together with the band. The sessions were among the most expensive and most laborious of their time, with extensive overdubbing of guitars and voices. The album ranges from music hall and ballads to heavy rock, with 'You're My Best Friend' by John Deacon, Brian May's acoustic '39 and Freddie Mercury's 'Love of My Life'. It closes with 'Bohemian Rhapsody', which spent nine weeks at number 1 in the United Kingdom and made the album one of the band's best known.
