Tattoo You was largely assembled by The Rolling Stones in 1981 from outtakes and unfinished tracks from earlier sessions, reworked into a full album with engineer Chris Kimsey. Its first half is pure rock, with the worldwide hit 'Start Me Up', 'Hang Fire' and 'Slave'; the second half is almost entirely ballads, peaking with 'Waiting on a Friend', which features jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins. The album was originally released in 1981 and spent weeks at number one in the United States. This edition is a 2-LP, adding the bonus LP 'Lost & Found: Rarities' to the album.
