Before they were called Status Quo, the same London group released singles as The Spectres and then as Traffic Jam. This compilation lines up the A-sides and B-sides from that period, from the first Piccadilly singles in 1966 to the end of the Pye years in 1973. It includes the psychedelic Pictures Of Matchstick Men, which reached the British top ten in 1968 and caught on outside England as well, plus the heavier boogie material with which the band reinvented itself afterwards, such as Down The Dustpipe and In My Chair. The set comes from BGO Records, is digitally remastered and carries new notes on the songs.
