A Different Kind of Truth is Van Halen's final studio album and their first with David Lee Roth since 1984. Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang plays bass, alongside Alex Van Halen on drums. Seven of the thirteen songs are reworked versions of unreleased demos from the 1970s and early 1980s; She's the Woman already existed as a 1976 demo, produced at the time by Gene Simmons. The band recorded the album with producer John Shanks at Henson Recording Studios and at Eddie's own 5150 Studios. Originally released in 2012 via Interscope, the album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 and number 6 in the UK, the band's highest British chart placing. Tattoo was the first single.
