After the space voyage of 2025's The Overview, Steven Wilson looks closer to home, to Larkstone, an invented village that lies outside time and place. Requiem for a Village is his ninth solo album and works as a story: actor David Tennant narrates, on words by Andy Partridge of XTC, who also co-wrote some of the lyrics. Randy McStine sings as well and Tom Richards conducts the choir parts. Wilson deliberately kept artificial intelligence and corrective audio technology out of the recordings. The album includes Swirl in a Lark's Eye, the title track, Hiraeth and On Chapel Slope.

This edition is a 2LP.
