Scaled and Icy is the sixth studio album by the American duo Twenty One Pilots, released in 2021. Singer Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun recorded the album largely remotely during the coronavirus pandemic, with Joseph producing together with Paul Meany of the band Mutemath. The album sounds lighter and more pop-oriented than predecessors such as Trench, with influences from pop, rock and funk. Singles were Shy Away, Saturday and The Outside. Within the band's storyline, begun on Trench, the album is presented as propaganda from the fictional city of Dema; according to the band, the title is derived from 'scaled back and isolated'. The album entered the top 3 of the American Billboard 200.
