After the commercial failure of Astral Weeks, Van Morrison moved to upstate New York and started writing shorter, tighter songs. Moondance, originally released in January 1970 through Warner Bros., is the result: horns, a swinging rhythm section, and gospel-flavoured backing vocals under And It Stoned Me, Caravan, Crazy Love, and Into the Mystic. He produced the album himself and recorded it at A&R Studios in New York. The title track and Into the Mystic became fixtures on American FM radio. This edition is an LP.
