Dawn FM is built as a concept album shaped like a radio station guiding the listener through a kind of in-between world, with actor Jim Carrey as the voice on air. The Weeknd originally released it in 2022, drawing on the synth-pop and new wave of the eighties, with contributions from producers including Max Martin, Oneohtrix Point Never and Swedish House Mafia. Well-known singles are 'Take My Breath', 'Sacrifice' and 'Out of Time'. Tyler, The Creator, Lil Wayne and Quincy Jones also turn up as guests. The album is the middle part of the trilogy between After Hours and Hurry Up Tomorrow, with mortality and redemption running through it.
