On The Colour Of Spring, Talk Talk largely let go of the synthesisers of their first two albums and turned to acoustic piano, organ, guitar and a shifting cast of guest musicians, among them Steve Winwood on Hammond. Life's What You Make It and Living In Another World became the singles, while Chameleon Day and April 5th already point towards the hushed work of Spirit Of Eden. The third studio album by the group around Mark Hollis originally came out in 1986 through EMI. For its fortieth anniversary the album has been cut at half speed by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios, overseen by drummer Lee Harris and Charlie Hollis, son of the singer, who died in 2019.
