Parklife turned Blur into the most talked-about British band of 1994. The third studio album, originally released on Food Records, jumps from the disco beat of "Girls & Boys" to the string-laden melancholy of "To the End", and hands the title track to actor Phil Daniels, half speaking his way through the lyric. Stephen Street produced. The album went to number 1 in the UK and won Blur four prizes at the 1995 Brit Awards, including Best British Album. "End of a Century" and "This Is a Low" remain among the band's best-known songs.
