Confrontation was assembled after Marley's death from recordings and demos of his final years and was originally released in 1983 via Island and Tuff Gong. Rita Marley and the Wailers completed the songs; Buffalo Soldier, officially released here for the first time, still became one of his best-known songs. Also on the album: Chant Down Babylon, Jump Nyabinghi, Blackman Redemption, Rastaman Live Up!, and I Know. The sleeve shows Marley as Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon, an image for the struggle against Babylon that runs through the album.
