The sleeve of this album, originally from November 1966, carried only the word Françoise. It was recorded in London with the orchestras of Johnny Harris and Charles Blackwell, with harpsichord in the arrangements and Hardy herself on Spanish guitar. The title track is Eddy Marnay's French adaptation of Adriano Celentano's Il ragazzo della via Gluck, which she had heard at the San Remo festival in January 1966. Je changerais d'avis goes back to Se telefonando by Ennio Morricone, first sung by Mina. Pitchfork reviewer Hazel Cills writes that the album achieves "a baroque sound" "that matched the depth of her sorrow and its complexities".
