Piano & A Microphone 1983 comes from a single cassette found in Prince's archive at Paisley Park: a 1983 recording made in one take at his home studio on Kiowa Trail in Chanhassen. For a little over half an hour he sits alone at the piano and drifts from one piece into the next, taking in an early version of 'Purple Rain', '17 Days', Joni Mitchell's 'A Case Of You' and the gospel standard 'Mary Don't You Weep'. It was released in September 2018 and was the first record his estate assembled entirely from the Vault.
