A View from the Top of the World is the fifteenth studio album by Dream Theater, the progressive metal band from Long Island, New York built around guitarist John Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Rudess, released in 2021. Recorded at the band's own DTHQ studio, it holds seven tracks, from the concise opener 'The Alien' to the title piece of more than twenty minutes that closes it. 'The Alien' won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. The line-up of James LaBrie (vocals), Petrucci (guitar), Rudess (keyboards), John Myung (bass) and Mike Mangini (drums) moves between technical unison passages, long instrumental sections and melodic choruses.
