Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture captures David Bowie's final performance as Ziggy Stardust, played on 3 July 1973 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. At the end of that show Bowie unexpectedly announced that it was 'the last show' the band would ever do, retiring his alter ego. With Mick Ronson on guitar the set runs through Ziggy material and covers, from 'Hang On to Yourself' and 'Suffragette City' to a medley with Jeff Beck. The recording originally appeared in 1983 as the soundtrack to the concert film of the same name by D.A. Pennebaker.
