Deftones
Deftones formed in Sacramento in 1988 and, from their debut Adrenaline (1995) onwards, became one of the few bands of the nu-metal era to leave that label behind. Around the Fur (1997) laid the groundwork, and White Pony (2000) traded pure aggression for shoegaze and dream-pop textures under Stephen Carpenter's downtuned riffs and the voice of Chino Moreno, who moves between screaming and whispering. Elite won the band a Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2001. Bassist Chi Cheng was badly injured in a car crash in 2008 and died in 2013; with Sergio Vega on bass came Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012). Ohms (2020) and Private Music (2025), their tenth studio album and the first with bassist Fred Sablan, keep the same balance of weight and melody.
This collection brings together Deftones on vinyl, LP and CD: reissues of the early albums, the later studio records and one-off releases such as the covers album Covers.
