Adrenaline is the debut studio album by American band Deftones, originally released on October 3, 1995 through Maverick Records. Most of the album was recorded at Bad Animals Studio in Seattle under producer Terry Date, while the hidden closing track Fist was recorded separately at Sound City in Van Nuys with producer Ross Robinson. At the time, the band consisted of vocalist Chino Moreno, guitarist Stephen Carpenter, bassist Chi Cheng and drummer Abe Cunningham. With this album, Deftones, alongside contemporaries such as Korn, helped establish a new sound that would later become known as nu-metal. It includes tracks such as Bored, 7 Words and Engine No. 9, which became staples of the band's live set.
