Deftones is the self-titled fourth studio album by Deftones, originally released in 2003 as the follow-up to White Pony. The album was produced by the band together with Terry Date. Heavy tracks such as Hexagram and When Girls Telephone Boys alternate with atmospheric compositions like Minerva and Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event. Singer Chino Moreno moves between screaming outbursts and restrained whispers, while Frank Delgado adds samples and keyboards to the songs. The album reached number two on the Billboard 200, with Minerva and Hexagram as singles.
