I Am... The Autobiography was originally intended as an ambitious double album by New York rapper Nas, planned for release in 1999. After a large part of the recordings leaked prematurely and circulated on bootlegs, the project was trimmed down to the regular album I Am..., and much of the material officially remained on the shelf. This collection brings together those lost recordings, including 'Fetus', 'Poppa Was A Playa', 'Project Windows' and 'Blaze A 50'. The songs are strongly autobiographical and describe Nas's youth and life in the Queensbridge neighbourhood. Since his 1994 debut Illmatic, Nas has been regarded as one of the most respected lyricists in hip-hop. The material was officially released for the first time in 2023.
