After the covers of Medusa, Annie Lennox went back to writing her own songs for Bare. The third solo album by the former Eurythmics singer deals with loss, doubt and the end of a relationship, and was made together with producer Stephen Lipson. 'Pavement Cracks' and 'A Thousand Beautiful Things' were released as singles, and in remixed form they reached the top of the US dance charts. The album peaked at number three in the UK and number four in the US, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album.
