Turnstiles is the album on which Billy Joel moved back to New York after a few years in California, and you can hear it: Say Goodbye to Hollywood bids farewell to the West Coast, New York State of Mind casts the city as home. It is his fourth studio album and the first he recorded with his own touring band, after firing producer James William Guercio and taking over production himself. It also includes James, Summer, Highland Falls and closer Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway). Commercially the album stalled at number 122 on the Billboard 200 at the time; a year later Joel broke through with The Stranger.

This edition is an LP on Subway Token Gold vinyl, the National Album Day edition.
