Two drummers and a beat borrowed from the Burundian drumming tradition define the sound of Kings of the Wild Frontier, the second album by Adam and the Ants. Above them ride Marco Pirroni's twanging guitars, chanted vocals and the pirate imagery the band presented itself with. Antmusic, Dog Eat Dog and the title track became hits in the United Kingdom. The album topped the UK albums chart, was the best-selling album of 1981 in the UK and won Best British Album at the 1982 Brit Awards.
