Led Zeppelin II is the second studio album by the British rock band Led Zeppelin, released in 1969. Recorded largely between tour dates in the United States and the United Kingdom, it distilled the band's heavy blues rock into riff-driven songs. The opener "Whole Lotta Love" is built around a Jimmy Page riff with a long experimental middle section, while the album also features "Ramble On", "Heartbreaker" and "What Is and What Should Never Be". The instrumental "Moby Dick" showcases John Bonham's drumming, while "Thank You" and "The Lemon Song" complete the set. With its blend of blues, folk and hard rock, the album helped shape the template for the hard rock of the early 1970s.
