Kinda Kinks was recorded quickly in early 1965, squeezed in between two tours, and the haste shows. The Kinks' second studio album captures the band as a beat group: short songs, plenty of R&B attack, and in Tired of Waiting for You a British number one where Ray Davies found the slow, dragging tempo he would return to. Nothin' in the World Can Stop Me Worryin' 'Bout That Girl and Something Better Beginning show the first tender side of his writing, while Naggin' Woman and Dancing in the Street still point back to the covers of the club years.
