A piano instead of a guitar, a hotel-casino on the moon as the setting and Alex Turner as crooning narrator: Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, the sixth Arctic Monkeys album, broke radically with the stadium-rock sound of AM in 2018. Turner wrote the songs on a Steinway at home in Los Angeles and produced the album with James Ford, recording in Los Angeles, Paris and London. No single preceded it; Four Out of Five and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino were lifted later. Despite grumbling from part of the fanbase, the album entered the UK chart at number 1 and was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. This edition is an LP.
