For Avonmore, originally released in 2014, Bryan Ferry gathered a striking list of guests around him: Johnny Marr, Nile Rodgers, Marcus Miller, Mark Knopfler and Flea all play on it. The album sounds like polished after-hours pop with plenty of space between the instruments, Ferry's voice sitting low in the mix. Alongside his own songs such as Loop De Li and Soldier of Fortune there are two covers: Send in the Clowns by Stephen Sondheim and Johnny and Mary by Robert Palmer, which Ferry had earlier recorded with Norwegian producer Todd Terje.
