Construction Time Again originally appeared on Mute in 1983 as Depeche Mode's third studio album and the first with Alan Wilder in the line-up. Martin Gore had recently seen Einstürzende Neubauten and took that influence into the studio: together with engineer Gareth Jones the band built the tracks out of sampled metal, hammers, and machine noise, recorded in London and mixed at Hansa in Berlin. In one step the group moved away from the lighter synth-pop of the first two albums. Everything Counts, with its melodica riff and a lyric about grasping businessmen, became the first single and reached number 6 in the UK chart. Love, In Itself and the Wilder-penned The Landscape Is Changing also feature. This edition is an LP.
