On Tour 1974: California captures Elvis Presley during a 1974 concert in California, the period when he toured the United States with a large band and backing vocalists. The set follows the familiar shape of those years: an opening 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', rock 'n' roll numbers such as 'See See Rider', 'All Shook Up' and 'Hound Dog', ballads including 'Love Me Tender' and 'An American Trilogy', and a closing 'Can't Help Falling in Love'. It is a live album documenting a full show from this stage of his career.
