After the wilfully odd Tusk, Fleetwood Mac returned with Mirage to compact, radio-friendly songs. The album was recorded at Château d'Hérouville outside Paris and originally appeared in 1982. 'Hold Me' and 'Gypsy' became the biggest hits, alongside 'Love In Store', 'Oh Diane' and Stevie Nicks' 'Straight Back'. In the United States the album reached number one. The accompanying tour stayed short: during those years the members were mainly at work on solo albums.
