Wake of the Flood first appeared in 1973 as the debut release on Grateful Dead's own label, Grateful Dead Records. Its sound is looser and jazzier, with room for extended interplay. Songs such as "Eyes of the World", "Weather Report Suite", "Row Jimmy" and "Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo" became fixtures of their concerts.

This release is an LP on coke bottle clear vinyl (50th-anniversary edition).
