Killers is the second studio album by Iron Maiden, originally released in 1981. It was the last album with singer Paul Di'Anno and the first with guitarist Adrian Smith, completing the guitar duo with Dave Murray. Killers also marked the first collaboration with producer Martin Birch, who would remain involved with the band up to and including 1992. Much of the material had already been written by bassist Steve Harris before the debut album. Songs such as Wrathchild, Killers and Murders in the Rue Morgue, inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe story, show the raw, punk-tinged sound of the early band. The cover art is once again by regular illustrator Derek Riggs.
