'True Faith' originally came out in 1987 as a standalone single, written and produced together with Stephen Hague, and became one of New Order's biggest hits: a UK top five placing and the band's first entry on the American Hot 100. The B-side '1963' later grew into a favourite in its own right. Philippe Decouflé directed the video with its dancers in coloured costumes. The song also appeared that year on the compilation Substance. This edition is a 12-inch single.
