Paul Weller released 66 on 24 May 2024, one day before his sixty-sixth birthday, which explains the title. The seventeenth solo album grew between 2021 and 2024 at his own Black Barn Studios and looks inward: growing older, looking back, carrying on, without ever turning gloomy. Soul Wandering went out as the first single. Noel Gallagher, Madness frontman Suggs, Bobby Gillespie and Hannah Peel are among those who wrote or played on it. The sleeve is by Peter Blake, his first for Weller since Stanley Road in 1995.
