Talking Heads: 77 sounds taut and jittery: short songs, high guitar lines, Tina Weymouth's pushing bass and David Byrne's strained vocals. The debut album originally appeared in 1977, shortly after Jerry Harrison joined as the fourth member and the group had become a regular at the New York punk club CBGB. 'Psycho Killer', with its partly French lyric and rolling bassline, became its best-known song. Alongside it sit songs like 'Don't Worry About the Government' and 'Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town', in which Byrne looks at everyday American life with dry irony. Tony Bongiovi and Lance Quinn handled the production. This edition is a 2-LP on green vinyl, expanded with a second record of outtakes and alternate versions.
