Machu Picchu is one of the albums Edgar Froese wrote, played and produced on his own under the Tangerine Dream name, originally released in 2012 on the band's own Eastgate label. Its six pieces take their names from places in Peru, from Caminos Del Inca to La Piedra Intihuatana; part of the material was recorded on location and finished at the Eastgate studio in Vienna. The music is calm and melodic, with slow sequencers and flute-like sounds. Adiós A Cusco carries a dedication to the British broadcaster John Peel.
