With Break Every Rule, Tina Turner followed up her breakthrough album Private Dancer in 1986. The sixth solo album originally appeared on Capitol Records and was recorded with producers including Terry Britten, Albert Hammond and Rupert Hine. Opening track "Typical Male" spent three weeks at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in October 1986, followed by "Two People", "What You Get Is What You See" and the title track as singles. The sound leans on tight eighties production, sharp guitar work and Turner's raw voice. The tour that followed took her to the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro in January 1988, one of the largest concerts of her career.

This edition is a limited box set with three CDs and two DVDs, holding remixes, b-sides and the concerts in Rio de Janeiro (1988) and at the Camden Palace in London (1986).
