How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb was U2's eleventh studio album, originally released in 2004. Production was handled largely by Steve Lillywhite, and the album continued the guitar-driven direction the band had taken on All That You Can't Leave Behind. The single Vertigo became a worldwide hit, helped in part by its use in an advertising campaign for the iPod. Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own, written about Bono's father Bob Hewson, reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. The album itself topped the charts in dozens of countries. At the 2006 Grammy Awards, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb won several prizes, including Album of the Year. Thematically it revolved around family, faith and mortality.
This release is a double LP on black vinyl.
