Van Halen is the debut album by the American hard rock band Van Halen, originally released in February 1978 and produced by Ted Templeman. It introduced the guitar playing of Eddie Van Halen, with the solo piece Eruption as its calling card. Other tracks include Runnin' with the Devil, Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love, Jamie's Cryin' and a cover of The Kinks' You Really Got Me. The line-up was Eddie and Alex Van Halen, singer David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony. The RIAA certified the album Diamond for more than ten million copies sold in the United States.
