With The Purple Album, Whitesnake looked back at the three years David Coverdale spent in Deep Purple. The band re-recorded songs from Burn, Stormbringer and Come Taste the Band, with Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra on guitar, placing classics such as Mistreated and Soldier of Fortune next to less played material like Lady Double Dealer. The album originally appeared in 2015. For this Special Gold Edition from 2023 it was fully remixed and remastered, around fifty years after Coverdale joined Deep Purple. This edition is a limited 2-LP on gold vinyl.
