Slide It In exists in two shapes. The British version was recorded with Micky Moody and Mel Galley on guitar, but for the American market David Coverdale had the album remixed by Keith Olsen, with new guitar parts by John Sykes and bass by Neil Murray. That American mix sounds harder and tighter, and with Slow An' Easy, Love Ain't No Stranger and the title track it put Whitesnake on the map in the United States for the first time. It was the band's sixth studio album, originally released in 1984. Sykes went on to co-write 1987, but left the band before that album came out.

This edition is an LP, carrying the American mix in its original ten-track running order.
