Highway to Hell, originally released in 1979, was AC/DC's American breakthrough and the last album with singer Bon Scott, who died six months later. Producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange took the band to Roundhouse Studios in London and brought more structure and backing vocals into the sound without softening the riffs of Angus and Malcolm Young. It earned AC/DC their first US gold album, peaking at number 17 in the United States and number 8 in the United Kingdom. Rolling Stone placed it at number 200 on its 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Alongside the title track, the album holds "Girls Got Rhythm", "Touch Too Much" and the closing "Night Prowler".
