Producer Bruce Fairbairn recorded The Razor's Edge at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver and gave AC/DC's twelfth studio album a tighter and broader sound than its predecessors. The opening "Thunderstruck" became one of the band's best known songs, while "Moneytalks" gave them their only US Top 40 single. Chris Slade sat behind the drums, replacing Simon Wright and appearing on this studio album alone. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than five million copies in the United States, the band's best figures since Back in Black.
