The album opens with "Like a Rolling Stone", a single of almost six minutes, unusually long for radio at the time. Highway 61 Revisited is Bob Dylan's sixth studio album, originally released in 1965 on Columbia Records, and the first recorded almost entirely with an electric band. Mike Bloomfield on guitar and Al Kooper on organ shape the sound: blues and rock as the foundation for Dylan's long, image-rich lyrics full of surreal characters.
Alongside the title track you will find "Ballad of a Thin Man", "Queen Jane Approximately" and "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues", and the album closes with the acoustic "Desolation Row", which runs over eleven minutes. Rolling Stone placed Highway 61 Revisited at number 18 on its 2020 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
