Nashville Skyline, originally from 1969, is Dylan's full embrace of country music. Recorded in Nashville with leading session players, he sounds softer and warmer than ever, with a strikingly smooth croon that surprised even longtime listeners. The album opens with the duet version of 'Girl from the North Country' alongside Johnny Cash and, in 'Lay Lady Lay' and 'Tonight I'll Be Staying Here with You', delivered some of Dylan's most accessible songs. At under half an hour it is short, but it helped set early-1970s country rock in motion.
