Ten Christmas standards and not a single original: on Home for Christmas, Dolly Parton sings the classic holiday repertoire, from The First Noel and Santa Claus Is Coming to Town to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Little Drummer Boy and Joy to the World. It is her second Christmas album, after Once Upon a Christmas with Kenny Rogers from 1984. Gary Smith produced, with Parton herself as executive producer. The album originally came out in 1990 on Columbia and was accompanied by the ABC television special Dolly Parton: Christmas at Home. In 1994 the RIAA certified it gold.
