Station to Station was originally released in January 1976 and was David Bowie's tenth studio album. On this record he introduced the Thin White Duke: a sharply dressed, cold crooner figure who gives the music its detached tone. The sound shifts from the American soul of Young Americans towards something colder and more European, with funk grooves and the motorik influence of German bands such as Kraftwerk and Neu!; the title track builds over more than ten minutes from the roar of a passing train to a danceable finale. 'Golden Years' and 'TVC 15' became the best-known songs. Recorded in Los Angeles, the album forms the bridge to the later Berlin Trilogy. AllMusic counts it among 'one of his most deeply rewarding' albums. This release is an LP on black vinyl.
